Strength in the Struggle: Charlene's Breast Cancer Battle

My name is Jennifer Winstead and on October 5, 2023, I received the dreaded text from my mom, Charlene Osborne, letting me know that her biopsy results were in, and was positive for the dreaded “C” word. After many, many tests to confirm, the official diagnosis - Stage 2 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a type of breast cancer that has tested negative for hormone epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), estrogen receptors (ER), and progesterone receptors (PR)1. Triple-negative breast cancer is usually more aggressive, harder to treat, and more likely to recur. During this time she has kept her TikTok performances going refusing to let the cancer control her life. Although she has been able to work and use PTO thus far, due to the complexities of treatment and recovery, the financial burden of medical bills and daily expenses weighs heavily. We also know that she won’t complete her treatment until, at best, July. This campaign seeks to lighten that load, offering a beacon of hope and solidarity. Above all else, please pray for my mom. She is the strongest person I know, and has been a total rock star this entire journey. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference, providing not just financial relief but also a powerful message of love and support.
