Hi, I’m Beeyanca. My journey in advocating for animal protection, especially for cats and dogs, began when I was just in kindergarten. I fondly remember spending half my allowance on chicken or pork BBQ with rice, all to share with the stray dogs and cats in my neighborhood.
By the time I turned 14 and started high school, I began noticing how some pets were neglected by their owners. I shared my dream with my friends about starting my own charity to help neglected animals and strays. However, balancing my studies with my involvement in sports, like swimming and taekwondo, proved to be quite challenging.
To make an impact, I started raising funds for stray dogs, cats, and other animals. Most of my earnings from teaching taekwondo went directly to buying dog food, rice, and meat for donation to local shelters. At that time, there were only one or two animal shelters in my area. Once I got my license and my father gifted me a car for my 18th birthday, I began driving around the city. I would prepare meals and gather disposable plates and bowls to feed the dogs and cats, using money contributed by my taekwondo students, my friends, and anyone willing to help.
When I entered nursing school, my schedule became busier, but I still managed to collect small donations from classmates, friends, and my mom’s colleagues. Whenever I found the time, I made sure to continue feeding the strays. I also discovered some active animal shelters focused on fostering and adopting out strays, and I supported them with whatever little funds I could gather.
After graduating from nursing school, I began working as a nurse at one of the largest hospitals in Iloilo City. While my career kept me busy, I still made time to foster and adopt strays. I was thrilled to see more animal shelters opening in my community, reflecting our collective efforts to support stray cats and dogs.
Recently, I was fortunate enough to receive approval for a student visa to Canada, and I am truly blessed. My stable financial situation allows me to contribute to 3-5 animal shelters in our province of Iloilo. I can witness the dedication of those working tirelessly, even amid financial struggles, to provide for their rescued animals. They face tough challenges like hefty vet bills for dogs and cats suffering from hit-and-runs, parvo viruses, or canine distemper.
I do my best to send money to these shelters every month, even if the amounts are small. Although I haven’t been able to fulfill my dream of building a shelter, I remain committed to supporting the genuine individuals who dedicate their time and effort to ensure safety, comfort, and security for our stray cats and dogs.
I have made the decision to raise funds for all the shelters in Iloilo City. These animals deserve our attention and support, not just in the Philippines but across the globe. I truly hope to make a difference for them.
Currently, I am working diligently here in North America, aiming to gather sufficient funds to aid the animal shelters in our hometown.
We urgently need your support for the cats and dogs that have been neglected, abused, and abandoned. Just a dollar can provide food and veterinary care for one or two animals. Your generosity can make a real impact. Thank you so much for your help!
Here are the shelters that I am supporting actively for your reference. Thank you once again. God bless all your good heart.
As you open their facebooks accounts. You can see them asking and begging for help and support financially. That’s why I am here, we are here to support at least a little help for them. THANK YOU
