SAVE OUR VALLEYS... STOP THE MINE!
Please help us protect our homes and environment from a proposed OPEN PIT pozzolan mine that threatens our health, safety, surface and ground water, home values, future economic prospects, historic and scenic values, local ecosystems and biodiversity, as well as our peace and quiet.
It makes no sense to impose a dirty, noisy, and socially disruptive mine within a well-established and environmentally sensitive community. Pozzolan is a ubiquitous mineral found in great quantities in sparsely populated regions of the West where fewer environmentally and socially
damaging costs will occur associated with mining.
Ours is a scenic and historic region whose economy is based largely on local, family-owned businesses, and attracting tourists and outdoor enthusiasts to the quiet, green riparian oasis of Skull Valley.
These points validate our demand that the Kirkland Mine should not be permitted. The collective costs of mitigating the environmental risks and hazards, building the necessary highway infrastructure, and compensating for health and safety, lost property values and economic opportunity, destruction of the precious scenic and tranquil nature of this region far outweigh any benefits of the mine. 
Without the mine, this community and its beautiful, clean, unique, and healthy environment benefit the public of this beloved area and beyond.
Skull Valley serves the greater community far more as a respite from urban life, and a pure, vital andproductive community for local residents and visitors of all ages.We intend to employ every civil means available to fight and mitigate the Kirkland Mine Company proposal to preserve a safe, intact, healthy and economically viable region for ourselves and future generations.
