Stop the Reno County Wind Farm

Where Reno County goes, the rest of the state will follow.

We need to set a precedent right here, right now, that we will not stand for the destruction of homes and property to fuel a giant corporation. Wind energy needs to happen responsibly!
Protect the people first!

In February 2019, a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) was submitted for the construction of an 88 turbine wind energy conversion system.

In April 2019, the Reno County Planning Commission voted and made a recommendation to the County Commission to reject the developer's CUP application for a permit to erect 88 wind turbines in Southeast Reno County and install the associated utilities. The reasons for this rejection were due to irresponsible sighting and too many issues with people and homes in the area.

On 6/11/2019, Reno County Commissioners voted to accept the protest petitions (needed a 20% minimum and had at least 46%).  This means the CUP application had to be unanimously approved  by all three county commissioners.  Thank you to all land owners who helped with the protest petitions!

Here is a Hutch News article from 6/11/19 regarding the county's decision to accept the protest petitions:

On 6/13/2019, the County Commissioners voted 2:1  for the CUP application, however, the decision was not unanimous, and therefore, the application was rejected.

On 07/02/2019, the developer filed an appeal based on the validity of the protest petition.  The developer is going to try to invalidate as many protest petitions as they can in order to overthrow the necessity of the super majority.

Legal battles take money! Please stand with us against irresponsible turbine sighting.

All donations will go to the legal fund for the fight against the company who is trying to push their agenda on the county.  Any funds in excess of legal fees will be given to another group(s) fighting to protect themselves against irresponsible wind energy siting.

Thank you for your help! We cannot continue in this battle without your support.
