The National Telegraph (TNT) is a growing independent news blog focusing on investigative journalism and politics from the centre-right perspective. Since the beginning The National Telegraph has believed in open transparent objective analysis of facts and that our opinions should be presented in an open and honest manner.

Background:

Erin O'Toole’s National Director of Field Operations during the 2020 CPC leadership race, is suing Daniel Bordman and The National Telegraph for an article reporting on verified text messages between him and other parties admitting to unsavoury behaviour within the Erin O’Toole campaign.

In spite of the text messages being verified to be real, and the plaintiff having not responded to media requests prior to the publication he sent us a libel notice four days after publication claiming we publish the text messages “out of context” while also not providing any of the supposed additional context. Several months later, still with no additional context provided, he filed the lawsuit.

The National Telegraph has started this GoFundMe campaign to bring evidence disproving the frivolous claims made against our journalism, and show how a member of Erin O’Toole’s team is attacking our freedom of speech and journalistic integrity in order to cover for the bad behaviour enabled within the Conservative Party.

Please help Daniel Bordman and The National Telegraph support their legal case against Erin O'Toole’s team’s aggressive clamp down on free speech and independent media and if you are a supporter of the Conservative Party we strongly recommend you reconsider any donations until Mr. O'Toole and his team stop bringing frivolous lawsuits against journalists.
