My name is Sarah Burrows and yesterday we arranged the first community protest against the proposal to build up to 20,000 homes on local green belt land. This has to be stopped - it is land we can never get back and will destroy ancient woodlands, wildlife, food production and farms that have been passed down through generations. Yesterday’s protest was arranged in 48 hours and posters and banners were created with whatever materials we could find. Many landowners have offered to display banners along the main road between Adlington and Poynton. People offered to drop leaflets and display posters in shops and workplaces. Our next protest in 2 weeks time will need many more banners and posters and unfortunately these are not cheap to produce. Many people have asked how they can help and how they can donate. This platform provides an easy way for people to donate and any money received will be recorded with accounts made available for everyone to see.
