Stolen Tools Replacement Fund

Steuerlich absetzbar
Tools valued at $3,000 were found stolen at 8 a.m. today on the Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County home-construction site by Construction Manager Chris Anderson. Some of the items stolen include a compressor, miter saw and more than a dozen corded and cordless saws among other tools.

Anderson contacted the Everett Police Department and they are investigating the break-in. The nearly complete home in Everett appeared to be undamaged and secure. Cuts through the security fence had been made, which the police speculate was the thieves’ point of entry.

Anderson also contacted Executive Director Guinn Rogers to report the incident.

“I guess someone needs the tools more than we do,” Rogers said. “We’re going to have to find a way to replace what was taken before we can move forward with completing the home construction.”

The site is located at 2010 23rd Street in Everett and a family of five will move into their home in December. The home dedication is scheduled for December 17 at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County’s site at Altena Gardens experienced a theft around the same time of year two years ago. Thanks to generous donors following the Altena Gardens incident, Habitat Snohomish raised the funds to replace the stolen items.

Contributions to help replace the stolen tools at the current site can be made online at habitatsnohomish.org or by mail to 16929 Highway 99 Suite 100, Everett, Washington 98037.
