Steve Williams Family medical expenses
Donation protected
If you know Steve or Carolyn Williams, you know they are very proud, humble, and would not ask for help even if it was needed.
My name is Valerie Whitelaw, and I am a close friend of Steve and Carolyn's. This GoFundMe campaign was started with Carolyn's permission to help pay for Steve's significant medical expenses.
Here is a little backstory. Steve entered the hospital on December 20, 2024, after his defibrillator shocked his heart 30 times. Steve had congestive heart failure and was placed on an ECMO machine and ventilator. The ECMO provides functions for the heart and lungs while they are not strong enough to do so on their own. Steve had surgery twice while in the hospital. Steve began the long road of recovery after being taken off the ventilator. On January 25, 2025, Steve's heart was strong enough for his transfer to a rehab facility. While at the rehab facility, Steve would do more intensive occupational and physical therapy to regain use of his hands and relearn to walk.
Unfortunately, Steve had complications and was taken back to the hospital. Steve's heart was not strong enough, and he passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 61. Steve was the father of 2 beautiful girls, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and mentor to many. As Carolyn, Eliza, and Adiya adjust to life without Steve and the hardest days of their life, the bills from attempts to save his life, care, and recovery continue to grow. Your contributions, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to assist them, please add them to your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!
