St.Colmcilles India immersion project

Hi, my name is Maya. As part of the India immersion project, my goal, through the charity Calcutta Connect is to make a difference to school children by sharing my knowledge and skills to support their education and help give brighter futures to young people from underprivileged communities. I am fundraising for my 10 day volunteering trip to Calcutta during the February midterm. I attend St.Colmcilles school in Dublin, and we are partnering with Calcutta Connect for this trip. 

During our days in India, we will be volunteering in schools to teach students from preschool to Leaving Certificate age and sharing our knowledge and skills with them.

I will be walking, baking, selling and quizzing in my community to raise funds. The funds will allow 9 of us to travel over and teach and extra funds will go to the school through Calcutta Connect.
