On February 17, 2026, a house fire in Richmond, Ontario affected two local households, leaving both families displaced and facing the complete loss of their home contents.
Thankfully, everyone is safe. However, the aftermath of a fire is overwhelming. While the families do have insurance, the process of establishing claims takes time, and there is a long gap between what insurance eventually covers and what is immediately needed. Everyday essentials — clothing, food, personal items, temporary housing costs, and the basics of daily life — must still be replaced during this uncertain period.
In the days following the fire, there has been an incredible outpouring of kindness and support from friends, neighbors, and the wider community. It has been truly heart warming to see people come together and offer help in so many ways. Many have reached out asking how they can support these families during this difficult time.
This fundraiser was created to provide a meaningful outlet for those who wish to help. Funds raised will go directly toward supporting the immediate needs of both households as they begin the long process of rebuilding and getting back on their feet.
Every contribution — no matter the size — helps ease the burden and reminds these families that they are not facing this alone. Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and for showing what a strong community looks like.
