One of our own is facing a difficult hardship, and as a family, friend, and firefighter brotherhood, we stand together in support. We ask that you take a moment to hear the message of a family in need:

To the dad that is always one phone call away and willing to drop everything and help — now it’s our turn to return the favor.

In 2021, our lives were changed forever. A colonoscopy revealed Stage 3 colon cancer. After surgery and 12 rounds of chemo, we hoped and prayed you would stay “cancer free.” You always live life to the fullest, which we are all in awe of. Scans every six months that were clear kept us hopeful.

Fast forward three years later, and we received the news no child can prepare for — the ugly “C” word has returned and spread, this time considered Stage 4 metastatic. Dad’s cancer has spread.

Our dad’s rockstar surgeon (as he would say) performed an intense HIPEC surgery in April 2025, followed by a stay in the ICU. They removed his spleen, appendix, part of his diaphragm, and greater omentum.

This was the hardest obstacle thus far. Dad was so strong and pushed through a long, hard five-month recovery and another 12 rounds of chemo.

Dad’s most recent PET scan shows a few concerning spots on his liver. He will have a biopsy and most likely six months of chemo followed by another surgery.

Unfortunately, this is our future — the unknowns.

My Husband, brother and I are starting this GoFundMe to help the person who always gives and never expects anything in return. The funds raised will be used for medical expenses, ongoing bills, travel for treatment, and to help ease the financial and family hardships that come with this journey. And to our mom — the best person he could have by his side — this will help keep her home to continue to care for him when needed.
