Stand with the Greenlee Family
Donation protected
We have a family that needs our help and let me share why I've decided to make a GoFundMe for them. They're one of the most selfless, generous, and loving families I know. They would do anything in the world to help someone in need, but now their time has come where they have a need. They don't want to ask for help; it's not in their nature, but as much as they have done for so many people, I want to help give that back.
Chris Greenlee is a loving husband, son, father, brother, and papaw. His family is his everything next to God. Chris unexpectedly ended up in the hospital, as he has times prior due to being in renal failure (but no one expected what was to come this time). A little background prior to his hospitalization, he's been awaiting a kidney transplant, which makes his immune system non-existent right now. Not to mention he has COPD and diabetes. So, anytime he gets an infection, it's very dangerous for him and spreads quickly because he can't fight it off as a healthy person could. He developed an open wound which resulted in infection spreading rapidly. His wife Kathy could tell he wasn't doing well, so she took him to LeConte Hospital on Tuesday, March 4th where they discovered this was much more serious than anyone thought. He was septic; it was bad. Tuesday, March 4th, they told her he must be placed in ICU on a ventilator because that would be his best chance to allow his body to rest and try to fight this infection off. You can imagine the fear that struck this family. Since Tuesday, he's had to have 12 inches of muscle and dead tissue already removed. Still more surgeries ahead including plastic surgery. They're fighting hard to keep the infection from spreading to his vital organs and arteries, but it's very close to those areas now. Time is of the essence, and they're trying to act very quickly to avoid this infection from taking his life because doctors have said he is very sick, and we have to act quickly or there could be no return from this. We're standing in the gap with this beautiful family, and I'm begging for you to please stand in that gap with me. Please pray for them, and if you can find it in your heart to donate, I know no amount would be too small. His wife Kathy is the sole provider. She has not left his side a single time since he was admitted Tuesday. She's terrified to leave him. Now that she's living at the hospital though with him, she's unable to work, but the bills won't stop at home. Prior to this, she worked 6 days a week and a lot of times 7 days a week, pulling 70-80 hours a week. She has now lost that money flow because she needs to be beside her husband. I'm asking to help lift this burden and make her load a little lighter by donating anything you can. Your donations will go towards their monthly bills at home, medical expenses, parking for the family at the hospital, and food. Thank you so much for taking the time to read if you've got this far. Please share and if you can't donate, please pray with us for complete healing!
