The southern state of India, Kerala, popularly known as 'God's Own Country', is currently under a state of emergency due to heavy rains that persisted close to three months and a wide spread flood.
This unexpected and unprecedented long rains and flood has resulted in many lives lost, and families losing their home and all personal belongings. Rescue efforts are underway but rebuilding is long journey.
We believe with your support we can help mitigate the effects of the disaster and provide relief to the victims. We are working directly with rescue teams on the ground.
My name is Sunny(Sunil)Krishnan, Wisconsin Resident for two decades. I work as Channel sales leader for Siemens PLM. My mother and extended family from "Thrissur" small province in Kerala "Gods Own" state in India is hit the flood last three weeks.
I'm focusing on raising funds to Impact the following areas,
1. Support Re-building efforts to low-income communities (25 homes). Provide Bed, Mattress, Pillow, Blankets. Also provide broken doors, shelves, clean and pain the interior of the homes impacted.
2. Develop a technology to manage and re-cycle waste.
3. Provide Books/Writing materials for children who are impacted.
We have developed a 120 day plan that will have support from High school children out of Brookfield getting engaged for the Re-building activities.
