If anybody deserves to be called a hero in the rescue world, it is our friend Dori.

For years, Dori has been the person who steps up when an animal has nowhere else to go.

She has helped animals who were abused, starved, abandoned, dumped in the woods, left on the side of the road, injured, sick, terrified, and forgotten. She has taken animals to the veterinarian, made sure they received the treatment they needed, cared for them through recovery, and given them something many of them had never known before:

Safety. Love. A home.

Dori is the person who rarely says, “I can’t.”

She simply finds a way.

But now Dori needs people to show up for her.

The sanctuary she has worked tirelessly to build and maintain is in danger, and losing it would be devastating — not only to Dori, but to the animals who depend on that safe place.

Those of us who know Dori know how much of her life she has given to saving animals nobody else wanted.

Now it is our turn to help save what she built for them.
