Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I'm reaching out today to ask for your support for my son, Alfredo Montoya, who is currently facing a life-altering journey toward recovery after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) — a rare and serious autoimmune disorder that attacks the nerves and has left him unable to walk.

Since late July, Alfredo has been out of work as he battles this debilitating illness. He spent over a month receiving critical care at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, followed by another month at an acute inpatient rehabilitation facility, where he continues to fight every day to regain basic mobility and independence.

While we are incredibly hopeful about his long-term prognosis, the road ahead is long and uncertain. His recovery will take months, possibly longer, and he will be unable to return to work for the foreseeable future. This sudden health crisis has put a significant financial strain on him, as he faces mounting medical bills and daily living expenses without a steady reliable income.
