Stand Up For Quay's Kids

On Monday January 7th, 2019 around seven thirty pm, our family member ShaQuala Jordan was in a horrible accident on the Route 30 in East Pittsburgh with her mother and two children Makei (10) and Kemia (6). An older man hit her with his vehicle while she was pulled over putting gas in her car. She was immediately rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

To save ShaQuala the medics had to remove the bottom half of both her legs. She also suffered injuries to her brain, a broken arm and neck injuries. (https://www.post-gazette.com/local/city/2019/01/07/Route-30-reopens-after-accident-shutsdown-all-lanes/stories/201901070146

More about ShaQuala here: ShaQuala Jordan is a mother of two, sister, daughter, and the most incredible friend you could ask for. She had just started a new job working as a Community Engagement Coordinator with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy working to engage communities across Pittsburgh in park planning projects.
Ever since the incident the family has been by her side and will be there until she is released and healthy again. Being around ShaQuala was always a great vibe, she always was positive, natural and charming to people. ShaQuala’s friends and family felt that it was our responsibility to do everything we can to support her and her children during this trying time her in life.  At this time, doctors are unsure about how long the recovery process will be and we are hoping to raise enough funds to support ShaQuala and her children’s living expenses for at least a year.
She has her own house, car and just started working at a new job. Now that she has lost her legs it is going to be very difficult for her to get around, help her children, and maintain a home. Her son Makei loves football and playing with his friends from school. Kemia (Keke) her daughter loves doing arts and crafts, playing dress up and pretending to me a mom.

Contributions to this campaign will go to supporting
