Stand by a Mom Facing Surgery

Hello all!

It really kills me to do this, because I really try not to take the light of anything, but try to be there for others more.

On February 7, 2025, I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Doctors tried to ensure me that it was a mild case and I would be okay with no surgery. Since then, I have had to take a lot of leave because I’ve had more flare ups than I would like.

Fast forward to yesterday, after a lot of testing, my symptoms have become severe. Right now, they are going to take a chunk of my large intestine, and try to repair my colon. Doctors said there is a spot that she’s concerned about, could be a small benign cyst, or a popped diverticula (which can cause a lot of infection).

I have been trying my best to keep up with life as a wife, mom, employee, daughter etc.

I am hoping to get help with bills and food and gas while I’ll be off for close to 6 weeks of healing. My first week will possibly be the hospital stay. For sure up to 3 days. It takes 6 weeks for a recovery period though as my intestines and colon heal and relearn the path of my internal system.

This is definitely something I hate to do, especially a lot of personal information shared. Anything will help though. I would hate to fall behind. My honey works hard doing 3 jobs to help make ends meet and I don’t want us sunk because of my recovery.
