Stairs to Never Forget

Stairs to Never Forget is a charity event that will be held on September 11 to honour the 400 first responder personnel and additional 2577 civilians that tragically lost their lives 20 years ago on 9/11

Queensland firefighters will don full LV2 Structural firefighting attire and breathing apparatus and proceed to ascend a 10m high, purpose-built scaffold structure, erected at Strand Park on the Townsville foreshore. This will be completed 400 times as a team, with each lap representing a life lost within the emergency services. A total of 13200 steps will be achieved.

This event not only offers an opportunity to remember the past, but a chance to make a difference to the future. Stairs to Never Forget is a fundraising opportunity with all proceeds being donated to Ronald McDonald House – North Australia, who provide the sick kids of North Queensland the best gift of all, their families.

Donations can be made at any time up to the event and on the day.
