St Michael's Hall - A Modern Vibrant Space For All

St Michael's Hall – a wonderful history - and with everyone’s help, a wonderful future!

This Go Fund Me page has been set up as part of a volunteer led community effort to ensure St Michael's Hall continues to give to the Cootehill community for the next 100 years!

A renascence was realised in 2022 when the parish council offered the building to the community and a voluntary community committee was established to run and maintain the hall. With the new committee came a renewed vision to modernise and upgrade the building so that it is an inviting, comfortable, multi-functional and accessible place for all who wish to use it.

Now that planning permission has been secured to refurbish and extend the hall, the voluntary committee are progressing to the next stage of fundraising. This project will deliver;

• an upgraded performance space with retractable tiered seating

• accessible balcony and stage access

• a functioning backstage room and changing facilities

• eight meeting rooms of various sizes

• a redeveloped entrance lobby, reception area, kitchen, storage areas and new toilet facilities

• a full size sports hall, with provision to sub divide into two smaller function rooms when required.

This involves the complete upgrading, extending, retrofitting and modernising of the 120-year-old hall. The delivery costs have been calculated at €6.8million which will extend the existing 417sqm to 1,620sqm and deliver a community space that will be available to any club, business or family who wishes to use it.

This volunteer-led project is a significant and ambitious project, but it will be an enormous contributor to the town and the surrounding area, from a social, business and amenity perspective.

Significant efforts are ongoing to secure substantial funding from European, national, regional and local grant aid competitions. With the help of your contributions, this fundraising effort will provide the required match funding to any such grants awarded.
