Men's Shed has recently lost their statutory core Scottish Government Funding, which has left the future of Springburn Park Men's Shed in jeopardy. The loss of this funding has affected their post-covid recovery plan.
Springburn Park Men's Shed provides recreational facilities to advance the social needs, health and well-being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in Springburn and surrounding areas by;
Creating, developing and maintaining a facility.
Offering opportunities for men in the north Glasgow area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice.
To reduce the isolation of men in the area this contributes to their physical and mental well-being.
Developing the capacity of men in the area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
These men not only support each other through difficult times but also serve their community, supporting and highlighting local charities and services. For example, providing local Children's Hospice with a handmade Santa sleigh for the children to enjoy.
Springburn Park Men's Shed was established in January 2019 mainly to address loneliness and isolation amongst men in the Springburn area, they soon realised malnutrition was a problem with local elderly men, in particular those who lived alone. So in response, they set up a Lunch Club and everyone who attends the Men's Shed receives a hot meal.
Men's Shed is for men over the age of 18 and is completely voluntary and run by the men themselves.

We understand that times are tough for everyone but any support you could give would help Men's Shed continue the amazing work that they do.
