Spring Food Drive for Immigrants (Twin Cities)
Thank you to everyone who donated to our spring food drive 2020. We dispersed over $15,000 in food cards because of your support!
Unfortunately, COVID is still in full swing and continues to devastate our poorest communities. MIRAC stands with all those affected by this pandemic, and we understand that this crisis continues to disproportionately hurt immigrant communities, since many are excluded from unemployment benefits and other government aid, including the upcoming stimulus checks.
MIRAC is again asking for your help to buy as many grocery store gift cards as we can to give to Minnesota immigrant families in need. Please donate what you can. We will use 100% of the donations we receive to purchase grocery store gift cards to be given directly to immigrant families.
While we continue to demand that the government recognize immigrant families by including them in any relief and stimulus programs, we are also doing what we can to help directly through solidarity and mutual aid. Join us in this effort by donating whatever you can.
Ways you can donate:
1. GoFundMe: Donate here! (GoFundMe charges a 2.9% processing fee)
2. Send a check: E-mail [email redacted][dot]com (replace the brackets with punctuation) to receive details on how to address the check as well as the office mailing address.
Solidarity forever! MIRAC - Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee

Why gift cards rather than food baskets? We want families to purchase what they need, rather than give them what we think they need. With grocery store gift cards families can go to stores or purchase online for curb side pick up and get exactly what they need.
*Please note that this GoFundMe fundraiser is organized by Miriam Magana who is a MIRAC member. 100% of funds will be distributed as gift cards by MIRAC to families most in need.
