Spread Ha-PEA-ness for the Produce Project Farm

As many of you know, I serve on the Board of Directors of Capital Roots. Everything about the organization -- including it's programs, staff, and community that we cultivate is dear to me. You may have heard about Capital Roots through our community gardens, produce markets on wheels, or student-powered farm! 

Last week, someone (or group of people) broke into our urban farm in Troy and stole essential power tools, specialized farm equipment, and a newly donated mower. These tools were for our high school students working with The Produce Project to do essential work on the farm.  The Product Project provides high school students with real job training, math and science lessons, resume building practice, and an experience like no other. 

I started this campaign to raise money to replace these items and repair damage done to the farm's storage shed. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I want to restore some hope in the world that despite this act of theft and vandalism, THERE IS STILL SO MUCH GOOD IN OUR COMMUNITY.
