Speech Therapy for Kids in Belize

Hello all! I am a sophomore at Biola University majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have been accepted to volunteer for a Therapy Abroad program in Belize based on my academic record and my passion for helping people around the world, giving back, learning about new cultures and leadership, and serving those with communication disorders!
On this once in a lifetime trip, I have the opportunity to impact children with special needs and their families by working with schools and other community partners to meet a huge demand for speech and language services. I will be observing evaluations, conducting field based speech & language screens, developing and implementing intervention plans, learning through planned discussions, whilst gaining hands-on experience rarely found in the classroom, professional observation hours, and a better understanding of global issues. This opportunity will help me discover what it takes to make a real impact on the world!
I am asking for your help!
First, and most importantly, please pray. Pray for the country of Belize; the children, parents, and families we will be serving; and for my team and me to serve them well!
If you also feel led, I would also appreciate your support financially. I have contributed $1,000 but I need your help to get the remaining $3,350. This money will go towards tuition, transportation, and other travel expenses. Any amount helps!
