Sparky needs surgery

Sparky, my faithful Guide dog of 8 years has been inflicted with a tumor around his sphincter. Sparky needs to have it removed. He is also suffering from kidney issues. Once removed he must return every Three months to check his kidney function. The amount needed for the surgery, plus blood lab work and office visits will most definitely add up. Something I am not able to afford given my current situation. Sparky is from New Jersey. I was able to find him through the non-profit organization Lighthouse for the Blind in 2009. Sparky had a previous owner for a year and a half however it didn't work out. So he was returned back to the school where he patiently awaited a new friend. Sparky is so full of love. When we met I instantly felt a connection. He taught me more than I imagined. Through team work I have become an independent mobile functional blind traveler. His patients with me and my clumsiness is a constant reminder of how his no-give-up spirit shines. I pray I will be able to collect the money by July 13th.
When we met I instantly felt a connection. He, safely navigates sidewalks, finds doors, chairs, bus stops, and warns me of danger and all obstacles impeding our path.
I’m a Former high school teacher who was sidelined in 2006 by a bad car accident and compounding my injuries were other health problems too. As a result I developed a sudden case of Vascular Glaucoma which rendered me completely blind.
I was blessed being assigned my guide dog Sparky. He has guided us safely ever since. A constant companion, lovable, noble, tender being who loves kids and adores everyone. He is always ready to give love unconditionally. Like most Labs he demands belly rubs whenever possible! I retired him from guiding months ago due to both his age and illnesses. ; He is a young Ten-year old pup. I didn’t feel right working him at his age.
I have diabetes and recently had a kidney transplant which I couldn't be more appreciative for. My companion and trusted partner is very sick and I feel uncomfortable asking for help, I'm stubborn that way, but I can’t think of being alone without him.
Thank you for reading; if you can help we would be grateful beyond belief. If you can’t donate please say a prayer for Sparky he's a tough pup and it will all work out in the way it should. Appreciatively, Carlos and Sparky
