Southport Strong Together Appeal
Hello & thank you for visiting my fundraiser.
On the 13th October 2024, I will be running a half marathon in memory of the children who unfortunately had their lives taken following the knife attack on Monday 27th July 2024, and those who are surviving victims. I as a father myself can not begin to comprehend the pain and heartbreak those families must be going through, therefore I would like a raise money to support them in every way possible which is why I have choose this charity. Below you can find all the details of the charity and what they propose to do.
The Community Foundation for Merseyside, in partnership with Sefton Council and Sefton CVS, has established the Southport Strong Together Appeal. Donations to the Southport Strong Together Appeal will help to provide support to those affected in a range of ways. They will be offered as charitable gifts to those who have lost loved ones, or sustained physical or psychological injuries, and also awarded as grants to local and regional charities providing vital support services to those affected. The money donated to this Appeal in the first instance will prioritise:
• Individuals experiencing bereavement and or serious injury who were directly impacted by the events on 29th July 2024.
• Individuals experiencing immediate hardship and psychological injury directly impacted by the events on 29th July 2024.
• Community relief through local, regional and/or national charities Secondly the fund will offer help to community organisations working in Southport which can be provided for a range of charitable purposes. The following are examples of the sorts of activities the Appeal may fund:
• Community organisations offering additional support such as emotional wellbeing, mental health and bereavement support.
• Community response coordination. • Support for community organisations working to deliver community cohesion and violence prevention initiatives.
