Life-Saving Support for Genocide Victims in South Sudan

Dear Friends,

I’m writing with urgency and a heavy heart. Thousands of South Sudanese—mostly from the Nuer community—are stranded at the South Sudan–Ethiopia border after fleeing horrific chemical weapon attacks by South Sudan People Defense Forces (SSPDF) and Ugandan People Defense Forces (UPDF). These are my people; this is my homeland.

Entire villages in Ulang, Nasir, and surrounding areas have been wiped out, with women, children, and the elderly among the dead. It is going on now as you read this note.

This is a repeat of the 1994 Rwanda genocide, and yet the world is silent.

Those who survived are now suffering without food, shelter, clean water, or medical care. An outbreak of cholera disease is spreading fast and killing people on top this genocide. Families are sleeping in the open, traumatized and helpless.
