"Heart Made Whole"
Hey friends! I just wanted to let you in on this big journey happening and use this chance to invite you to be a part of it. As many of you know, I made some choices this year that drastically changed my life course and direction, from 13 years in NYC/ Boston, to the West Coast and beyond, chasing dreams...That path made a sharp left turn and led me back to my roots in Florida where I spent the last 6 weeks healing and finding purpose again. The questions I needed to find answers to: How could I leave everything behind in New York - a life that took years to build- and what on Earth would come next? Music Therapy? Songwriting? Teaching? Who knows? A loss of identity = an incredible opportunity.
It was here in the southern sunshine that God continued to re-shape my life, and opened up the door for me to move deeper into my souls desire - to heal, serve and immerse myself in the lives of children in need. This dream is now coming to fruition, and if God wills it, this time next week I will arrive in Capetown, South Africa, to meet an amazing friend and then dive deep into the world of service and music to this precious and vulnerable population. One of the organizations is my friends very own "Join Bands Not Gangs", using music to support teens out of gang violence, and another is the Children's Home, in the village of Tulbach, an orphanage serving babies and toddler-age children who have already experienced unspeakable trauma.
My role is to serve with music, love, and compassion, and to give my God-given time, presence, and gifts to the fullest. If you want to support these missions, your help will support me during the 5 week journey with the basics of food and safe transportation, and after that will go to supporting the needs of Join Bands Not Gangs and The Children's Home. Its just a small amount - a blip on the map- but it is important and powerful. When I return, I settle into a new therapeutic role in pediatrics at a local hospital, integrating this year's extraordinary experiences into serving the children and families in the community I was born and raised in - in Tampa, Florida.
Your help will make a difference in my life and in the lives of many children in South Africa who are vulnerable and may not ever be able to know the comfortable lives that many of us are so fortunate to live here in our country. Thank you for your generosity and support! <3
