South Africa Community Outreach 2023

Donation protected
Every year since 2012 as part of the University of Central Florida's commitment to global outreach, students participating in this Service Learning Study Abroad Program have provided outreach in the form of sustainable projects in Intabazwe and the Nambiti game reserve.

This year, 9 students have each been selected to select a project to lead, based on the needs of each of these locations. In Intrabazwe we will renovate a local school which includes the installation of solar panels to provide a sustainable energy source, supplies and uniforms, feminine hygiene products to increase school attendance, and an additional classroom as an attachment to the current building.

That's not all, a food and clothing drive will be coordinated for the locals, an orphanage will build with the assistance of local contractors, first aid supplies with training will be provided, and a fence will be constructed around the school to provide a safe area for the children to be children.

In Nambiti, we'll be placing trail cameras around the reserve to identify and track the local leopard population, and dehorning a black rhino (this does not harm the animal), which prevents further depopulation from poaching.

We will do everything in our power to see this through. All proceeds will be utilized strictly for these projects; anything helps! Thank you so much for contributing!
