For the one in seven Americans who struggle to put food on the table, celebrating the holiday isn’t as easy.
For the 65 students in our Sophomore Leadership cohort, everyday struggle is a reality for most of them. Many have experienced or are currently living through some type of trauma in their life. Some are working while going to school to support their families, forced to stay home from school so their parents can work while they tend to the siblings. Unfortunately, we even have students who have to endure the pain that comes with having your parent be deported. The pain is real, the stress is real, and the desire to be "normal" is real.
This is where I NEED YOU, if you are willing. To help me give them the opportunity to fee "normal," even if it's just for a few hours of their day.
With your donations, I'd love to surprise our cohort with a traditional thanksgiving dinner. We are a little family unit within our building and I would love to show them our collective gratitude. To show them that when people come together, we can do GREAT things!
It would mean the world to our team if you could help us pull this off. I promise I will post an adorable picture of them enjoying the feast that you so graciously helped us provide.
