Sophie's Expedition to Costa Rica

In the summer of 2018 I will be travelling to Costa Rica and Nicaragua with Camps International to work for a month supporting local communities. In Costa Rica our projects are centred around conservation and environmental issues, and in Nicaragua we will be focusing on social projects such as housing & sanitation. We will also be involved in working with local children, teaching them English and attempting to have a life-changing impact on them. For Nicaragua, I believe this is important work as 48% of the Nicaraguan population live below the poverty line. Costa Rica is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world so the work we do can really make a difference to the environment. The money I raise will be split between investing directly into the local communities, supporting and planning the expedition and other things such as infrastructure development. This is an amazing opportunity for me to step outside my comfort zone and truly try to make a difference to people's lives and the environment, and I would be immensely grateful for any donation you are able to make towards this.
