Story

Sophie Milgram is a short film about a human clone who is kept inside a confined laboratory for a worldwide experiment. Sophie is being tested for tracking device implantation in the human body by her elder sister and mother. The story explores Sophie’s search for freedom and her struggle to continue the experiment or break free from the laboratory.

故事大綱

蘇菲的實驗講述未來一個因為監控計劃而誕生的複製人故事。蘇菲是追蹤儀器移植人體實驗的第一名測試對象，被她的「姐姐」及「母親」長期困於研究所內進行實驗。當她對現實産生了懷疑並開始反抗，她開始意識到內心對自由的渴望。面對權力的誘惑，到底蘇菲最後會選擇復仇還是脫離研究所？

Director’s Note

The fight against oppression is an ongoing battle for many of us over the globe. Through this film, I want to express that freedom is a choice and that we are here to make a difference.

導演的話

對抗電子監控和社會壓迫仍然是許多人每天正在面對的掙扎。透過這個故事我想表達自由是一個選擇，不應該被剝奪。不論多小的思想和行動，我們都可以去嘗試作出改變。

$3000 might seem quite a bit, but this is our Capstone Project and we have plenty of creative directions that we’re excited to explore. We’re all Video Design and Production students from George Brown College, and this is our Capstone Project for the last semester!

我們是在多倫多喬治布朗學院就讀影像設計及製作的學生，蘇菲的實驗是我們最後一個學期的畢業作品。

Director

Jacs Yim is a multimedia artist from Hong Kong who is now based in Toronto. She started her creative journey with Fine Arts, making paintings, sculptures and installations. After studying Art and Design for a year at Central Saint Martins in London, she went back to Hong Kong to explore more possibilities in Arts. She began her filmmaking journey by freelancing in Set Design, moving on to making her own video art. She expanded her interest in directing when she went into her current Video Design and Production Programme at George Brown College in Toronto. Through experimentation with strong visuals, she expresses philosophical views from a unique Hong Kong female perspective.

Jacs Yim 是來自香港的多媒體創作人，現居於多倫多。她的創作之旅由繪畫、雕塑及裝置藝術開始，在倫敦中央聖馬丁學院就讀一年的藝術及設計課程後，她回到香港尋找藝術的更多可能性。機緣巧合之下，她開展了美術設計的工作，並開始拍攝自己的影像作品。在她搬到多倫多並就讀於喬治布朗學院的影像設計及製作課程後，她對導演的範疇産生了更大的興趣。從不尋常的香港女性視角出發，她的作品旨在表達思想觀點以及探索實驗影像及傳統敘事之外的可能性。

Producer

Leah began her filmmaking career back in India, working as an Associate Producer on over 20 digital media projects for several multinational companies. With the intention of pivoting into the Canadian Film Industry, she enrolled in the Video Design and Production Program at George Brown College.

Along with her background in Business Management and her production experience, Leah is working towards creating unique and challenging films, highlighting her greatest strengths of planning, organizing, and attention to detail.

Leah在印度開始了她的電影製作生涯，曾經在超過 20多個由跨國公司統籌的影視項目擔任助理製片人。她隨後轉向加拿大電影業，並報名參加了喬治布朗學院的影像設計及製作課程。 憑藉她的商業管理背景和製作經驗，以及對計劃、組織和細節關注的優勢，她正遂步向着製作獨特且具有挑戰性的電影計劃進發。

Director of Photography

My name is Nazar Zhezhera and I'm a cinematographer from Ukraine. I got into cinematography right before I started the Video Design and Production Program at GBC and it has been 2 years since I found my passion. I also started working on commercials, music videos, short films, and PSAs outside school as a crew member of the camera department. The experience I’ve gained in these 2 years has fully prepared me to bring this project to life.

我是來自烏克蘭的電影攝影師Nazar Zhezhera。在開始喬治布朗學院的影像設計及製作課程之前，我剛發現了我對電影攝影的興趣，開始創作至今已經有 2 年了。我還開展了在校外的廣告、音樂視頻、短片和 PSA的工作並擔任攝影部門。這兩年獲得的經驗為我將實現這個拍攝項目做好了充分的準備。
