Songs For Steve

We are raising money for Steve Sage, who for over 25 years has given so much of himself to educate, promote, and foster the development of aspiring musicians and artists. 

Thousands of students have passed through Steve's Rock Rhythm & Blues program at Diablo Valley College.  His spirit, drive and discipline have inspired confidence, competence and clarity in his students.

You may not know Steve but it’s no doubt you have been touched by him and his students…from the Walnut Festival in Walnut Creek to Concord’s Music and Market Series at Todos Santos Park, you have heard Steve Sage or a former pupil perform.  Steve Sage has been a driving force in keeping local live music alive in the Bay Area.

Your gift will offset loss of income and medical costs associated with Steve’s cancer treatment.  Steve was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in August of 2015 and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.  As you know, this treatment is devastating to the body.  And, the rising cost of health care and the inability to work a full schedule places unforeseen financial burdens on a family.

Our goal is to raise $75,000 ($75 x 1000 people) by March 31, 2016, the date of the ‘Songs for Steve’ fundraiser being held at the Empress Theater in Vallejo.  Please join us there for the show; however, look into your heart and donate now.
