Somali and Ranger Celebration
Donation protected
Last year we organized over 20 Minnesotans with Somali heritage to come to the Iron Range. It was an opportunity for Iron Rangers and Somalis to share a meal and realize their common immigration roots. Our Somali visitors did a tour of the Soudan Underground Mine to learn about immigration and mining at the turn of the 20th century. The hosts from Iron Ranger held a dinner at Sulu's in Tower. It was a beautiful experience for everyone. The Tower Timberjay wrote a beautiful article about the day. https://www.timberjay.com/stories/breaking-bread-breaking-barriers,13647?
We are raising money because more people are coming on October 27th and we will pay for the bus ride, the mine tour and to reimburse for some food costs.
Thank you, in advance, for making this possible with your donation. By understanding our common immigration stories and sharing a meal, we can make Minnesota a better place.
