On the 17th of May I was supposed to be running the Hackney Half Marathon and I wanted to raise money for Magic Breakfast. I’ve decided I’m still going to run the 13.1 miles on the same day, on my own, and I’m still going to try and raise money for Magic Breakfast!
Founded in Hackney, Magic Breakfast aims to end hunger as a barrier for learning, by providing healthy breakfasts to schools across the UK for vulnerable children.
During the current crisis, Magic Breakfast is still working hard to provide children at risk of hunger with access to a free, nutritious breakfast at the start of the day. They continue to provide breakfast either at school, or as take home packs to be collected. Many school staff are hand delivering the packs to families homes.
This is a difficult time for many of us, but for thousands of families across the UK it could become almost impossible just to get by. Magic Breakfast is a lifeline for children who often have no food at home, and for parents/carers who can take comfort in knowing their children will be fed at the start of the day.
