ماهي الاحتياجات؟

منذ وقوع زلزال ٦ شباط "فبراير" 2023 في تركيا وسوريا، كان فريق سين يعمل على مدار الساعة للاستجابة العاجلة للأفراد المتضررين/ات من الزلزال من مجتمع الميم عين لام السوري في تركيا وسوريا.

تلقت المنظمة عبر احد اعضائها المتضررين من الزلزال والمتواجد في تركيا وعبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي العديد من طلبات المساعدة الطارئة، توزعت احتياجات الأفراد لتشمل ما يتعلق بطلبات الاجلاء، الغذاء، الادوية، الرعاية الصحية، الملابس، وإيجاد مسكن أكثر امناً، والرعاية من آثار الصدمة، استجابت سين لبعض الطلبات عبر مساهمات مجتمعية ومحلية لأفراد كوير وحلفاء موجودين في دول مختلفة ضمن حملات تكافل اجتماعي قام بها أعضاء وداعمين ضمن المنظمة.

ومع تضاؤل فرص العمل في المناطق المنكوبة في سوريا وتركيا يواجه أفراد مجتمع الميم عين لام السوري صعوبات في تأمين تلك الاحتياجات الأساسية لهم/ن و/أو لعائلاتهم.

كيف ستساعد هذه الحملة افراد مجتمع الميم عين لام من اللاجئين/ات والمحليين/ات في سوريا وتركيا؟

يساعد هذا المبلغ ما يزيد على ٨٠ فرد من مجتمع الميم عين لام السوري من اللاجئين/ات في تركيا والمحليين/ات في سوريا على تأمين احتياجاتهم الأساسية عبر منح صغيرة عادة ما تقدر ب ١٠٠ دولار لكل فرد، يساعدهم/ن في تأمين الاحتياجات الاساسية، التمويل يذهب بشكل كامل ومباشر للأفراد، تتبع المنظمة سياسات سرية وخصوصية لحماية معلومات الأفراد المستفيدين/ات

لماذا مجتمع الميم عين لام؟

في حالات الكوارث الطبيعية والنزاعات، يواجه أفراد مجتمع الميم عين لام ظروف صعبة للغاية تتقاطع مع هويتهم/ن الجنسية و/أو الجندرية ومع وضعهم/ن الاقتصادي والاجتماعي،اضافة لما تخلفه الكوارث من آثار جسدية ونفسية واقتصادية كارثية عليهم/ن ف أفراد مجتمع الميم عين لام كجزء من الفئات الأكثر تهميشا تواجه صعوبة مضاعفة للوصول لخدمات الاغاثة، لأسباب متعددة منها ما يتعلق بالتمييز على أساس الهوية الجندرية أو التعبير الجندري، مما يجبرهم على محاولة الوصول الى خدمات الرعاية الصحية والاغاثية أو السكن الأكثر امناً عبر طرق قد تكون أكثر تكلفة، كما أن انقطاع الوسائل التقنية أو ضعفها ضمن شبكات الدعم الاجتماعي التي يكونها أفراد مجتمع الميم عين لام عبر وقت طويل في ظل هذه الظروف يشعر الأفراد بالحاجة لطلب المساعدة من مصادر أخرى، وهذا ما تساهم به سين للتخفيف عن الأفراد.

من سين ؟

سين للعدالة الجنسية والجندرية منظمة غير حكومية تأسست عام 2021 متمثلة بمجموعة من الناشطات والناشطين من المثليين/ات، وثنائيي/ات الميول الجنسية، والعابرين/ات، واللاجنسيين/ات و المتسائلين/ات وأشخاص يعيشون توجهات جنسية وجندريَّة مختلفة، وحلفائهم/ن.

تتوجه سين للعدالة الجنسية والجندرية إلى أفراد مجتمع الميم عين لام السوري في كافة الجغرافية السوريّة، بجميع مكوناتها وأطيافها، وتعطي المساحة للناشطات والناشطين الكويريين/ات والحلفاء للتعبير عن أنفسهم-نَّ بالطريقة التي يفضلونها، داخل مساحة آمنة خالية من التمييز تجمع النشطاء والمدافعات والمدافعين عن حقوق الميم عين لام والنساء، لنقاش القضايا التي تحقق العدالة والمساواة للمجتمع الكويري السوري على مختلف الاصعدة القانونية والاجتماعية والصحية والثقافية.

What are the needs?

Since the February 6, 2023 earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, the SEEN team has been working around the clock to provide urgent assistance to LGBTQIA+ individuals affected by the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.

The organization received many requests for emergency assistance through one of their members who has been affected by the earthquake in Türkiye and through social media. People's needs were distributed as needing relocation, food, medicine, medical care, clothing, safer housing, and help with the effects of the shock. SEEN responded to some requests through community and local contributions from Queer Activists and Allies in different countries through social solidarity campaigns conducted by members and supporters of the organization.

With dwindling employment opportunities in disaster-affected areas in Syria and Türkiye, LGBTQIA+ Syrians are struggling to secure these basic needs for themselves and/or their families.

How will this solidarity fundraiser support Syrian LGBTQIA+ refugees in Türkiye and locals in Syria?

This fund will help more than 80 LGBTQIA+ members of the Syrian LGBTQIA+ community of refugees in Türkiye and locals in Syria affected by the earthquake to secure their basic needs through micro-grants, typically estimated at $100 per person. The funds go directly to the individuals, and the organization follows confidentiality and privacy policies to protect beneficiaries' data.

Why the LGBTQIA+ community?

During natural disasters and conflicts, members of the LGBTQIA+ community face challenging circumstances related to their sexual and/or gender identity and economic and social status, and the catastrophic physical, psychological, and economic impact of the disasters on them. LGBTQIA+ members, who are among the most marginalized groups, have a difficult time accessing support services for various reasons. These include discrimination based on gender identity or expression, which forces them to try to access health and support services or safer housing in potentially more expensive ways. The disruption or inadequacy of technical resources within the social support networks that the community has formed over a long time under these conditions leads people to feel the need to seek help from other sources, and this is what SEEN helps to alleviate.

Who is SEEN For Gender & Sexual Equity?

Seen for Gender and Sexual Equity (SGSE) is a non-governmental organization established in 2021 led by a group of LGBTQIA+ activists and allies.

The organization is dedicated to the members of the LGBTQIA+ community in Syria and provides a platform for queer activists and allies to express themselves freely in a non-discriminatory safe space that fosters dialogue between queer and feminist activists over the means of justice and equality for the Syrian queer community on the legal, social, medical, and cultural fronts.
