Solar Panels to the Himalayas

To my Friends and Family,

I'm extremely honored that I've  been selected to join this year's Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) in September 2018.
GHE is an initiative that provides custom-made solar panel micro-grids to remote villages across the Himalayan ranges of Northern India that do not have electricity. Before receiving their micro-grids from GHE, children and adults living in these villages often use unhealthy kerosene lamps for reading and studying.

This September, I will trek 9 days through the Himalayas to Shadé along with a group of international volunteers and the GHE team , where we will install solar micro-grids which will serve to power the village with sustainable, clean electricity.

Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) seeks to provide clean energy, education and wireless connectivity access through solar power, to help improve the living standards of the rural population. GHE has electrified 25 off-grid remote Himalayan villages directly improving the lives of almost 5000 people.

National Geographic Documentary



As previously announced, I did not raise enough funds to participate this year. I transferred half of the donations to EarthSpark International, and the other half to Solar Cookers International. Both organizations wanted to thank my donors directly but we could not do this due to GoFundMe's privacy regulations that do not even provide me with a list of contact details of my donors. As a workaround, both charities send Thank-You letters, which I link to this update.
Thank you again for supporting me to facilitate sustainability - and for allowing me to donate the funds to these outstanding charities that are working in the same area as my fundraiser.
