Sigma Nu Voodoo Fundraiser

Donation protected
This year Sigma Nu's Annual Voodoo week is from October 20th to 25th and we will be raising money for the U.S. Dream Academy. Our events this year will include selling t-shirts which promote Voodoo, Marcus brownies, a chili cook off, and Gentlemen’s Day. Throughout Gentlemen’s Day, we will have a brother at the entrance of every academic building holding the doors open for all of campus and raise awareness for the Dream Academy. We hope to raise $5000 for the U.S. Dream Academy to help assist them with buying supplies and funding the program.

The U.S. Dream Academy is an after school program designed for underprivileged 3rd to 6th graders, who typically have a history of incarceration in their immediate family. The brothers of Sigma Nu visit these children during the week and help them with homework as well as participate in various crafting activities and play games. The Dream Academy stresses three main points: skill-building, character-building, and dream-building. Occasionally, we facilitate readings and small group activities that are centered on these core beliefs. Afterwards, we reflect on how these will help them in the near future as well as in the long run. The children have grown extremely close with some brothers, and many of us serve as the big brother or father-figure they never had.
