SMNE opens office in Ethiopia

SMNE has moved to Ethiopia to continue its work in the human rights arena. Its guiding and enduring principle, "Humanity Before Ethnicity", is the only medicine for our current ills in Ethiopia.
SMNE is now a recognized entity in Ethiopia and allowed to function as a human rights organization to stand guard for the rights of ALL Ethiopians. We believe in an Ethiopian way forward! It is indeed time to strengthen our solidarity to build the new and democratic Ethiopia we've all worked very hard for.
Being on the ground in Ethiopia has tremendous costs. We're ready to pay the human cost and do the work; However, we cannot bear the financial responsibilities alone. With your help, we will work very hard so that the current opportunity of change is not squandered. This opportunity for change came as the result of incredible sacrifices by Ethiopians from ALL regions. It is our responsibility to keep the torch burning and make sure the sacrifices of millions of Ethiopians was not in vain.
Currently, our executive director, Ato Obang Metho, is in Ethiopia continuing our vision of building a just and democratic Ethiopia. As he has worked in the past as the unofficial ambassador for ALL Ethiopians, he is determined to continue the struggle at much more elevated capacity and stature. SMNE is determined to tap into the vast network of governmental and non-governmental entities to bring real change and opportunities in Ethiopia.
