In a poll conducted in May, 52% of small businesses believed they would close in 6 months.
The UT Dallas Executive MBA class of 2020 has formed this fund to support the economic revival of our local community by selecting a local small business in it's recovery efforts from the impact of the global pandemic.
The funds will be gifted to aid a small business with immediate financial needs such as paying rent, utility bills, employees, etc. to help them stay afloat during these challenging times. We have already raised $3,200 from individual contributions and are striving to raise an additional $2,000 using our network.
Beyond the monetary gift, select members of our cohort will consult with the business in a turnaround effort including analyzing their operations, marketing and finance efforts to ensure we give them a plan to maximize revenue while lower costs to ensure sustainability.
Any DFW small / family business can apply by accessing the application. We are targeting reviewing all the applications by June 20th and awarding the money in Mid-July.
We are soliciting sponsors who wish to join our efforts. By sponsoring, you will get exposure to an inspiring story via social media and other channels while knowing you are contributing towards uplifting our community.
This effort is not affiliated by UT Dallas or any professional organization and 100% of the funds will be donated.
