My dear friends, as you might know the COVID-19 has struck like a bomb in India. We are operating some temporary relief aid in Rishikesh to feed the families who need it the most. Because of the lock-down, there's no income for a lot of people, and basic needs are getting more expensive and inaccessible.
Thousands of people from the slums are struggling to meet their basic nutritional needs. The majority are only day labourers (they live day to day with what they earn, thus have no savings for times of crisis). So, we have decided to call on you, our western brothers and sisters, for emergency support.
With your help we can reach many these people in Rishikesh who are struggling. All the donations will be used to directly distribute food packages all over the city. No middle men, no messing around, straight to the bellies of the people.
Right now,we are able to purchase around one truck per day which is filled with essential food supplies that will feed around 80 average families for approximately 2 weeks! We are locked down until 3rd of May as things stand.
Every donation, small or big, is most welcome and what may seem like a small amount of your Western currency goes a long long way for the local people here.
