SLP Nest: Year 2
In 2018, the community of St. Louis Park took a chance on our high school students' dream to start an all-in-one student-run coffee shop, hangout and event venue.
Today, what was once a small storage building near the high school is now a gathering spot that has been enjoyed by hundreds of students and adults since the opening in late September. Our community has been tremendously generous with both their financial support and by donating their time to help tile, paint, build, and much more.
SLP NEST is delivering what student board members started three years ago. During this time students developed a non-profit business plan that included engaging city and county officials, reaching out to community and educational organizations, creating an official 501c3 nonprofit, renovating a space, and finding avenues for funding relevant programming.
We are now looking to the future. Your contribution in combination with seed funding from civic and private corporate grants will help us achieve our operational budget. The total fundraising goal to stay open and thrive during our second year is $95,000. We know we can get there, but we need your support. For more information, please visit www.slpnest.org
