This campaign has been raised to show Support and love for our dear friend and family member Sleidher Rodriguez.
One of the most humble, warm hearted, genuine friends you will ever have.
On the evening of November 14, 2014 Sleidher Rodriguez, 20 year old resident of Haledon, NJ was hit by a speeding vehicle crossing the street on a busy street Haledon Ave. He has suffered facial lacerations and fractured both of his legs including his Fibula & Tibula.
Plastic surgery was done to repair the left side of his cheek. Rods and plates were placed in his lower legs to stabilize his broken bones in hopes of him making a full recovery and use of his legs to continue living the active and productive life he had before this tragedy.
Both Surgeries were a success and he is currently in under the care of the team over at St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson, NJ. Sleidher is truly blessed and we are all grateful he was able to survive such a horrific accident.
Upon Hospital release, Sleidher will need to endure 6 weeks of rehabilitation at an off-site campus to gain motor skills and movement to his legs. After the conclusiong of that, he will be confined to a wheelchar and continued rehabilitation will be done. Doctors expect a full recovery within 6 months to a year.
Unfortunately, as many young Americans living in the US, Sleidher is not medically insured.
This percent is dropping, but still accounts for about 29% of young Americans.
Our hope is that with your help, we would be able to financially help ward off some of these staggering medical expenses accrued during this tragedy.
As some may know, our brother Sleidher has not had the easiest of times in these last few years although it may come as a surprise to many, because of his huge tender heart; full of Life, Love and Laughter always ready to give all he has to help others.
If you are unable to give financially, we ask that you would donate your time and come visit our great brother and friend. To pray for that he would experience a full recovery & restoration both in his physical & mental state.
This journey to recovery has just begun and there is a tough road ahead, and with the Holidays quickly approaching we want to be a blessing to our beloved friend.
Our goal is to raise at least $5000 the more the merrier.
100% of these proceeds will go directly towards Sleidher's Medical & Living expenses.
