Skyler's Story
I am so grateful for having a wonderful and loving son. He has been a bright light and a blessing for our family. Our child was a fine 15-year-old boy. We went on a short drive to the beach before the school year started this past fall. Skyler was happy, always dancing, and so inquisitive, but that changed over night.
What has happened to our son?
Skyler began staring off into space. In the next couple of days he started having facial ticks and grimmacing. We took Skyler to his pediatrician who said it was common for adolescents to have facial ticks and it should go away. The ticks did not go away. Within a matter of three days, they exploded into hand movements, vocal ticks, OCD behavior, intrustive thoughts, temper tantrums, and uncontrolled behavior.
Now what do we do?
We went to doctor after doctor with no answers or much help from our pediatrician or our neurologist. We tirelessly researched on our own, staying up all night to find answers. Finally, we found an immunologist who has treated children in the past with this disorder.
We have Cigna insurance who our immunologist said denied coverage, but it will cost $5500 per treament. Skyler may need up to three treatments. My heart broke. This IVIG treatment is successful in treating what we now know is PANS-PANDAS, Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder associated with strep or viral infection.
How can you help us?
For those of you who have children, you see how difficult it would be to know there is an 80% chance for your child to be normal again if he/she received a treatment. Wouldn't you do anything to get it? My husband, daughter, and myself are reaching out to you to please help us get our Skyler back.
Skyler is a wonderful person, a humanitarian with passion and a gentle heart. Our neighbors love Skyler and tell us how different of a child he is. He is always willing to help others through service and those in need of spiritual positive advice.

We have had so many doors closed on us. We will not give up! This treatment works best prior to the end of puberty. We don't have very long.
