Skydive for Teen Sarcoma Cancer Charity

Hi I'm Conor Walsh and I'm doing a skydive for my good friend Kian Maher.

In November 2021 Kian found a lump on his left leg just below his knee. When he visited his GP he was immediately sent to A & E for further investigations. After a very short while Kian was diagnosed with a Ewing Sarcoma which commonly affects young teenage boys. This type of cancer is very rare and can often be mistaken for a sports type injury and progress very quickly with devastating results.

Kian went through 2 cycles of chemotherapy at St Vincent's in Dublin and then 2 intense surgeries in Cappagh orthopaedic hospital. Kian now has to have 5 weeks of radio therapy followed by 5 more cycles of chemotherapy. This treatment should hopefully be completed by March 2023.

I not only want to raise money for Kian and his charity but I also want to raise awareness about Ewing Sarcoma. As a keen sportsman I feel it's so important for young men in particular to be aware of this type of cancer. It can effect any of your limbs and soft tissue.

I have been great friends with Niall, Kians older brother since I was 5. Karen and Boozzer have been like an extended family to me. Kian is a great friend of mine also and he has handled this whole situation so well, never moaned or complained and still gas the Craic and his sense of humour is unique! (As most of you know!!)

Please give any amount you can. The funds raised will be divided equally between the Irish Cancer Society and Kian. Kian is hoping to do something great with his share when his treatment ends and will also be using some of his funds for the ongoing expenses incurred by his family.
