Skate for a Voice! was created by former roller derby athlete, Melissa Skeet. Melissa’s goal is to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Children, and Two-Spirit. This has been an ongoing tragedy to families who have lost a loved one due to systematic failure.
Melissa will also be skating to raise money for the Rollin’ for Rock Research fund for the Navajo Nation who have suffered from water contamination and environmental distress that have been ignored. Melissa will be joined by Daisy Purdy on this skating adventure.
The Skate for a Voice! Crew is filled with 8 members who are traveling from different parts of the country on their own dime. This includes food, lodging, and travel. We are asking to donate to our amazing and dedicated crew for this awareness. Any donations that are not put towards the essential crew needs will be distributed out to the various organizations below. We'd ask to please contribute to the organizations first.
