What is the cause for and where does it go?
Our Sion to Six Hills Relay is a virtual relay run, cycled and cross-trained on Thursday 10th December 2020, seeing 6 staff members covering 164km/102mi: the distance from our branch at Stansted to our brand new Headquarters outside Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Google Maps say we can walk it in 36 hours, but we'll relay this during our working day!
Sion to Six Hills is part of other charitable efforts this Christmas as we are set to supply 25 van loads of food & goods to food banks, across our branch network of 5 locations (Ipswich, Stansted, Peterborough, Tamworth, Six Hills), over the 5 days of Mon 14th - Fri 18th December. The Trussell Trust have provided regular updates on food bank usage this year, with 1.2 million being the number of emergency food parcels given
to people in crisis by Trussell Trust food banks between 1st April – 30th September 2020, with 47% of food bank users in that time being on a low income, more so with the Covid-19 crisis we have faced this year.
Our Global Giving! initiative follows on from our fundraising this year, after starting our own charity - the Go! Foundation - which has raised over £11,000 this year for the NHS, as we continue to donate 5% of our retail revenue back to the NHS, forever.
What have we already done in 2020?
MacMillan coffee mornings • Support Van for Three Pillars charity, relieving COVID19 related hardship and home loss in the greater Peterborough area • Stansted Fun Run with proceeds going to EACH • Rental Vehicle provided to a team embarking on the Three Peaks Challenge, with proceeds going toward their local brain charity • Provision of a vehicle for The Dream Factory - a charity supporting life limiting conditions for young children - opening the door to experiences they wouldnt typically be able to take advantage of
