The cottage owner closest to the dune has always managed and paid for the maintenance of moving the sand each spring. However, as the wind patterns have shifted, the amount of sand that blows onto all the neigboring properties has increased so much that it now must be hauled off site.
Several of the cottage owners closest to the dune have joined together to manage and pay for the removal of the sand. Yet, hauling the sand off site is cost prohibitive for the group of cottage owners on their own.
The removal of the sand is our only chance at saving our cottages.
We are asking community members and those who have a special place in their heart for Silver Lake to consider donating toward this cause. 100 % of the money raised through Project Push Back and Grow will be used for sand removal and sand movement prevention.
Please share this page! Together we can save this lovely place we call paradise. Let's all make sure that family and friends will be able to enjoy Silver Lake for many generations to come!
We will report all progress here for your viewing. Success of this project will depend on community involvement and donations.

Our goal is to PUSH BACK the invasion of the dunes by removing and transporting sand to an alternate location and GROW community involvement by working together to save our cottages.
