As COVID-19’s long term impact on the global economy remains unclear, its short term effects are not, and they weigh heavily upon service industry workers: bartenders, restaurant workers, etc. Bars, restaurants, and cafes worldwide are limiting service or outright closing (hopefully not for good), significantly decreasing the number of workable hours available to their employees. This means that millions of predominantly low-wage workers are suddenly without a source of income and must figure out how to survive without any emergency savings. These folks are by and large paid an hourly wage and rely heavily upon tips to make ends meet, so the preventative measures against the spread of the coronavirus have a deleterious effect on their livelihoods.
This fund is to directly help our employees at Silver Shores restaurant who have been greatly affected economically. The funds donated will be split among our employees who will be ever grateful for your generosity. Please consider donating to help our staff make ends meet during this time of uncertainty.
