As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Silver Grill had to lay off over 45 staff members. Unfortunately, their income disappeared overnight when we were forced to close because of the crisis.
Government relief efforts are helpful, but take time to process. Our hourly employees need immediate relief to buy groceries, pay rent and mortgages, cover utility bills, and more. Many customers have asked how they can help. Relief is possible by contributing to the Silver Grill Emergency Fund for Hourly Staff.
Immediate Funds for Hourly Staff
My name is John Arnolfo and I’ve owned Silver Grill for 41 years. Our employees need these emergency funds ASAP. I’m writing to ask you to contribute to this meaningful fund. Your donations will land directly in the pockets of our hourly workers and be distributed equally among them all. The funds will be deposited into a checking account that I have set up specifically for this effort. I will be distributing the funds directly to all laid off employees by a check written by me.
Once the COVID-19 crisis is conquered, we look forward to re-hiring our fantastic servers, cooks, front counter staff, bussers and others who create the Silver Grill experience you know.

Historic Silver Grill Cafe is the oldest restaurant in Northern Colorado, serving breakfast and lunch in Fort Collins since 1933. Its roots extend back to 1912 when it was called UNEEDA-Lunch (You Need a Lunch). Wood floors, huge windows showcasing Old Town Fort Collins, original brick walls, and diner-style counter tops lend the historic restaurant its character.
Silver Grill breakfasts, lunches, and Bloody Mary’s are legendary, named “Best Of” for years. The Silver Grill’s signature item is its huge homemade cinnamon rolls, made fresh daily and oozing with sweet sugary toppings. More than 10,000 are baked each year!
