Significant Loss Of My Dad.

Donation protected
On August 16th, 2018, my dad, Nosa Eke, passed away due to untreated appendicitis. His death was sudden and unexpected, and as my dad was the sole income provider in our family, this loss leaves not only a massive emotional and physical void in our lives, but also a financial gap.

My dad did not have life insurance, which complicates matters further.

I want to thank those who donated already, as it helped cover funeral expenses and some of the medical bills (fun fact, you still have to pay for medical services even if you die).

I currently work two jobs to sustain myself as of 2019. The remaining requests are specifically for my mother. A rapid series of severe emergency business expenses in 2018 and 2019 were a major setback, and with COVID-19 in 2020, there have been greater challenges in the search for stability. We've all been in a position where seemingly every negative event decides to occur like dominoes. As you attempt to get on your feet, something else puts you back onto the ground. It's painful to watch, and it is devastating to endure.

But I'm not giving up.

My dad took pride in taking care of us in any way he could in all facets of life. He always found a way to make sure things got done, that each day was its own success, even if that stress was quietly debilitating for him. I couldn't ask for a better dad. And, I will admit this: It has been emotionally draining to be unable to be sad when the focus is on just trying to stay afloat. Bills wait for no one. Debt is unsympathetic. Watching my dad for as long as I have, my instinct is to assume that position of taking care of everything at home. In the same way he did when my grandfather died, I proudly assume that role.

My mom, in my opinion, deserves to spend her years knowing that everything will be okay for her. My mom, in my opinion, deserves to truly recover, be healthy - physically and mentally - and to live without sorrow. She deserves to be herself and be free. And while I work almost twice as much as I work on school to accomplish this to an extent, I still need your help.

ANY donation is welcome! There is no true normalcy right now if there ever was, but I've always been taught to take things day by day.

We greatly appreciate your support and love.
